The NSW Government wants to change our Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurance scheme. Anyone injured in a motor vehicle accident – a driver, a passenger, a pedestrian – could lose under the Government’s changes. And not just lose – you could lose everything.

But the changes haven’t gone to Parliament yet and it’s not too late to stop them.

Join us in the fight to protect your CTP rights.

The Government is using double speak – don’t believe everything they tell you

The Government says…

The Government says… they’ll give you help when it’s needed.

You’ll get early support and benefits.

The Government says…you’ll get help where it’s needed.

More of the CTP dollar collected by the insurance companies will go to injured people.

The Government says… reduced premiums.

We have an expensive CTP scheme – this ‘reform’ will save you $3 per week.

The Government says… they’ll provide support and advocacy.

We can save money by taking lawyers out of the system and replacing them with government-appointed ‘advocates’.

but the whole story is…

You might get a dollar today, but…

You’ll not get eight dollars tomorrow (those using a lawyer to represent them historically get eight times the value of assistance).

You’ll not get ongoing care for as long as you need it (you’ll be cut off).

Your right to support for loss of income will be severely curtailed.

The insurance companies have made massive profits out of CTP insurance and they will continue to.

You’ll get less so that everyone who causes an accident gets more.

We’ve not got the cheapest CTP insurance scheme, but it provides great value for money.

It ensures you have access to medical care and support for as long as you need it.

It ensures your right to legal representation.

Three dollars a week is peanuts given what you stand to lose if you’re injured in a motor vehicle accident.

History shows you get eight times the benefit if you use a lawyer. Navigating the claims system is complex.

There are specialist compensation lawyers in NSW for a reason – they’re helping people get access to the justice they deserve.

Lawyers are part of your right to a fair outcome. Good luck in fighting an insurance giant without one.

Insurer profits account for much more of the cost of the CTP scheme than lawyers – but nothing is being done about this and it’s an outrage.
